Diet

Hey, Diet has a show in SF. Here's what he had to say,
"Come to Stussy San Francisco on Haight St this friday night for a solo art show im having starting 8pm..i will be in there stop bye and say Hi!!!..support - T"
Timmy's dope. I wish I had some images from his show at Jinxed, although it looks as though this show might be a graffiti show. I don't know. If you're in SF check it out.
If you don't know Timmy that's him in wearing what I think is the first Bad Luxury Tee Shirt ever. All of you San Franciscoians (?) should go and tell him you know me. Good luck explaining which Jason from Philadelphia I am.

Men are supposed to like Dr. Dog
This months GQ says that Dr. Dog is what everyone should be talking about.
"Dr. Dog's Fate sound a lot like White Album - era Beatles. But chillax, music snobs. That's why we love them. The Philly-based goofballs-they call themselves Dr. Dog!- are so skilled at producing worn-in, bluesy psych rock that you'll find yourself embracing the similarities, especially on tracks like "The Old Days" and "The Rabbit, the Bat, and the Reindeer."
- Mickey Rapkin and Kevin Sintumuang
And, this months Details gave Fate 4 out of 5 little retangles.
"These Philadelphia pop experimentalists have been using a Beatles-based formula for a while, but now they've mixed in enough rustic indie weirdness (like the Pavement-esque guitar and lo-fi vocals on "Hang On" and "The Old Days") to get them past the Abbey Road Comparisons."

Free -------------> and Awesome!
Dr. Dog is playing at Rittenhouse on Wednesday! I won't be able to make it but you should check it out. It's free. Plus they're awesome. I thought the LA show was great even if they weren't so syked on the audience. And, just for the record I love it any time they end with Fuck It. Word on the street is that this is gonna be the biggest show at Rittenhouse ever. Ever!

The Rolling Canvas Art Collective
Check it out. Adam Wallacavage, Time Diet, Jake Henry, Ben Woodward, Awesome Dudes Printing, Roland Burns and a bunch of other artists are customizing bikes.
"Created to celebrate the union of the art and urban bicycle cultures, the Rolling Canvas Art Collective will highlight and encourage the use of bicycles as a means of artistic expression.
These twenty-plus artists will recreate basic, fixed gear bicycles into one-of-a-kind representations of their creative methods ranging from sculpture and metal work, to street art and paint. The art installations will be auctioned off to the public, with each artist donating a portion of the proceeds to Neighborhood Bike Works of Philadelphia.
A public gallery opening and auction will be held on Friday night, August 1st, 7:00 PM at Media Bureau Gallery in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia. The exhibit is open to the public through the end of August.
A public online auction will begin on Monday, August 4th at 12 PM EST and run through Thursday, August 14th at 12 PM EST. Photos of the pieces and auction links will be posted online as they become available"
