BUGGIN OUT

8-foot BUG fossil found!!!

Johnny Weedseed

Yesterday I walked from Central Park to Chinatown.
I got lost a couple times so I think that it was probably over 60 blocks.
Just saying...

Question to ponder

Why would a bird live in a poor neighborhood?

REEL TALK

After my lovely experience at the Consulate's office yesterday, I started to think about some Brazilian films.
Everyone knows city of god, but there are a ton of movies that are similiar that are just as good, if not better:

This is an amazing film. If you liked city of god then you will love this. Its like City of God without all of the feel good parts. Most of the actors were street kids, and the main actor even died a couple years after the film was completed. This shit is raw, unfiltered, brasilian street action. One of my favorite movies of all time.

Documentary on a Bus hostage situation in Rio. Shows the ineptness of the cops and also the horrible living situations that causes many favela residents to snap. Not for the faint of heart.

Jailhouse story with some positive vibes. Surprisingly, this isnt that violent. Dont get me wrong, there are plenty of shivs and shanks, and rape scenes, but over all I expected this to be much worse. For the ladies, this stars brazilian heartthrob Rodrigo. Unfortunately he plays a transvestite, but im sure his good looks will shine through that make-up and make you wetter than october.

Neighborhood no-good accidently shoots the favela druglord. He unexpectedly liberates the favela and becomes a local hero. Highly recommended.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. Ill post more if people are interested.

Long Walks On The Beach

FODA-SE

Yesterday I went to the Brazilian Consulates office in NY. It was a nightmare.
I had to renew my brasilian passport but that didnt happen.
Basically they told me that I had two options. One, I could renounce my Brazilian citizenship and get a visa. Or two, I could serve two years in the military.

The conversation we had was mind-numbing:

me: Im a dual citizen. Here is my passport and brazilian birth certificate.
them: Where are your military documents?
me: I never served.
them: Well, you have to serve.
me: Ive always lived here.
them: That doesnt matter. Its your duty as a brasilian to serve.
me: so, what are you saying?
them: If you havent served in the military, you arent officially a brasilian citizen so we can't give you a passport.
me: alright, i'll just take one of those visas then.
them: oh no, we cant give you one of those. you are a brasilian citizen.
me: WELL GIVE ME A PASSPORT THEN!!
(repeat about 10 times)

The shit was retarded and I have the pleasure of pleading my case again in about a week.

Here is a picture of my Dad on the beach that I would go to everyday, if only I could get a damn passport!
