Eggs, Wind and Fire

As some of you are well aware I have started the new weekend routine of starting the day eating a good breakfast while listening to the soulful sounds of the seminal Seventies super group Earth, Wind & Fire (can someone say Alliteration?)... Now if you are interested either swing through and join me for some Eggs, Wind and Fire or if you can follow these easy steps and try it out for your self.

First and foremost you need the eggs

This weekend I'm working with a Trader Joe's basic white large grade a eggs. If you would rather break out some free range, brown or even egg whites after all it's you morning to shine.

Secondly you need the wind

I tend to get the wind from the sounds of Earth, Wind and Fire pouring out of the Pioneer CS-C403 speaker system. I find the Combination of the 14" sub 4" mid and 2" tweeter covers all the bases and really allows me to appreciate the subtle nuances of the soul. Personally I like to get started by listening to tracks such as Shining Star, Let's Groove and Boogie Wonderland but once again your taste will come into play here and the EWF catalog is quite extensive so you have a lot of choices to pick from.

Lastly you need the fire

I prefer the gas range but use what ever you have on hand.
Now that you have all of the essentials it's time to get down to cooking. Ask yourself "How am I feeling today? Scrambled? Over Easy? Omelet?" Make you decision and get to cookin'. For example today I wanted a mushroom spinach and feta omelet and the shit was bangin!!!

Now get you cook on and sit back and enjoy music and good food. Sabrina’s aint got shit on this!!!

Kanye/Skepticism/Hype/Talent

Back in 2004, I actually bought into the hype with Kanye and went out and bought his debut album "College Drop-Out"(It was all part of the delusion that I was under at the time that Hip Hop as I had grown to appreciate it was alive and well). I was familiar with his production work,(which I'm a fan of to this day) and I had seen the videos w/him chillin with Talib, Mos, Dialated etc and thought to myself this shit might be dope. After listening to the cd I had buyers remorse, aside from a decent single here and there I wasn't feeling it... Flash forward to 2005 and "Late Registration" I felt like I knew what I was in for copped the singles to bang at the club and gave the album a pass. I wasn't buying into his whole "act" and didn't feel like I had missed out on anything... Flash forward again to current day and "Graduation"... I feel like it's 04 all over again, I'm thinking to myself, he's stepping out and doing shit different, (sampling Daft Punk for the first single stronger), and I really like the 2nd single "Can't Tell Me Nothing" not to mention the video!

I also just heard "Pro Nails" with Kid Siter produced by A-trak and there I am again all excited thinking this shit is dope!
So the question remains, is it hype or is the guy genuinely talented and going to give me a quality album? I don't expect him to change the direction of the shit stew that has become rap/hip hop? (Yes including Lil Wayne!)
I have my money on Plastic Little but as I mentioned earlier when it comes to music I often catch myself in a delusional state...
