woodsmen/women

Its kind of short notice, but anyone in for camping the weekend of October 17? October is one of the best months for camping. A group of us went to Dingman's Ferry last year around this time and it was great, except when Kira and I were pitching our tent in middle of the night in the driving rain. The days were mild with no humidity and few bugs. The nights were cool and perfect for gathering 'round a campfire or tucking into your sleeping bag. The scenery is the best around this time with all the fall foliage.

I'm looking at Trough Creek State Park. "The 554-acre Trough [troff] Creek State Park is a scenic gorge formed as Great Trough Creek cuts through Terrace Mountain and empties into Raystown Lake. Rugged hiking trails lead to wonders like Balanced Rock and Rainbow Falls. Rothrock State Forest and Raystown Lake Recreation Area border the park, making a large, contiguous area of public land for recreation." Additionally there are at least 17 bald eagles residing in the park.

I'm going to reserve campsites this week. I don't have prices for campsites, but if i remember correclty, it was about $60 a site last year. So you are talking about $10 a person. Let me know if you want in. If you don't have any camp gear, no problem, a bunch of us do and we'll get anyone set up if they need to borrow some gear.
