Danzig Brick

So, we are playing tomorrow. Danger Danger Gallery, West Philly 9:00ish?

New Camera Time

This is the time of year when all the new digital cameras come out(There's a big trade-show coming up)... I usually switch up every other year or so. I've gone through quite a few cameras at this point. Every time I'd go for something smaller/slimmer with higher megapixels... A while back I came to the realization that your simply not going to get good quality from a compact digi... Which is why my camera has basically been collecting dust for the past 6 months. I've been looking at DSLR's (aka stealing Liz's whenever she brings it out,) they are allot of fun and produce great image quality but lets face it they are a bit of a hand-full and quite pricey. So I started looking around for a quality digi just this side of a dslr. I came across the canon g9 which is a 12mp camera built like a tank that shoots in raw format and is fully adjustable. I was about to throw my old cameras on ebay when I saw this today:

The Canon g10:
Ill design, wider lens, new image processor and 14 megapixels to top it all off...
Gotta get my loot-cakes together!

More Pio Pictures..............

A big thank you to everyone who came to hang out with us.

Padre Pio Played At Danger Danger Gallery Last Night

Small World

Every day or at least every weekday I go to The Green Line to buy a cup of coffee. Nine times out of ten the same guy is there to sell me my cup of coffee. Today I happen to be wearing my sister's Lebanon Valley College lanyard. And today like everyday that same guy (I think his name is Dave) is there to sell me my cup of coffee. But today he notices my LVC lanyard and asks if I grew up near the Lebanon Valley. I did. I tell him where I grew and it turns out he grew up in East Petersburg. The only thing I know about East Petersburg, which was only about a 30 minute drive from my parents' house, is that is where More Skates used to be. I tell Dave (let's call him Dave, it'll make this story easier to tell) this and he replies that he used to hang out there all the time. He inquires about where I went to high school. Conestoga Valley. Then he asked if I know Derrick Firestone. Yeah I know Derrick. I met Derrick when I was in 9th grade. We were friends until I went to college and he stopped skating. Small world huh?

That story reminds me of another small world story. Most of you have probably heard about my spaghetti incident story. The one involving poop and a microwave. Well that kid, Chuck, was my best friend until that happened. After the incident he wouldn't talk to me for months. But, one time after that when we were hanging out he took me to a "rave" in Lancaster city. I won't get into it but the last place the of the college junior version of me would be expected to end up in a rave in Lancaster. But there I was. So long story short who should I see but Derrick Firestone. I hadn't seen him in years. And the weirdest part of this story is he was wearing a shirt I had given him when I was in tenth grade. He said when he put it on that night he thought that maybe he'd run into me. Weird.

Intelectual Hip Hop

The Return of Public School Tales

This years Public School Tales coming at you courtesy of The School District of Philadelphia, Central Region.

First off, this is the very first conversation I heard from my new class. I rolled up on day one to pick up my kids and I heard this,

"Tupac ain't dead. You seen those pictures? That's real blood in those pictures but Tupac ain't dead. It's real blood but he ain't dead."

I also over heard this on the first day.

"Lil Wayne kiss Birdman on the lips."

And finally, the first note of the school year.

"Donte

(ed. note: it was Donte's very first day)

DEAR TWATFACE

"You owe me money for billz! Add another 200 to your tab that you will never pay. I know you've been sneaking in my room, using my compy and rooting through my personal shit. Remember when you used my scissors to cut your mangy pubes or cleaned the bathroom sink with intimate wet wipes? Don't think I didn't notice. Cover up your tracks, jackass. I've left you a going away present on your bed. It's my pee. Just reciprocating what your cat did to my boxes. I also rubbed my feces on your lamp. But I'm sure you will feel right at home, since you've been sleeping in cat shit remnants for the last few months. Karma is a bitch baby and I hope it kicks you right in the hatchet wound. All of my Love-E PS- I lied, you do look fat everyday. You should consider purging!"

I LOve you I HATE you.................

Where babies come from

Thanks Roams!

Cindy can drive!

preamble: I'm staying out of posting political pieces. It's a waste of time as we are not going to be changing anyone's mind and it'll only serve to take away from the fun of our blog. This is about a lady who can race, she just happens to be married to a guy running for office.

Cindy McCain, wife of Senator McCain, is a drift car racer! I'm not a big of drift car racing, but any lady in her 50s that can build a tuned Nissan 240sx and take it sidways through a turn at high speeds, in a controlled fashion, has my utmost respect. Even cooler is that this lady was out learning how to improve her skills six short weeks after suffering a stroke.

She has been at it for the past 7 years and races in amature competitions. Cindy is an avid gearhead and just a got a little hotter in my head.

Now i really want to build up a first gen Mazda MX-5 to compete in SCCA competitions.
