Before we had a McDonalds we had a McConnells. McConnells Fun Food. It wasn’t a chain, it was run by some local Dentonians. It was very similar to McDowells, from Coming to America. The logo was a smiley face and they had an awesome playground in the back. Now it is a Subway/Dunkin Donuts combo, located directly across from the Roses.

McConnells had some good waffle fries, fried chicken... you can't get that shit at WackDonalds
yo urn,
remember the crazy space ship sliding board they had? or the giant robot sliding board across the street at the Tasty Freeze? Thats taking it back.
Came across your blog searching for McConnells info... my family would stop there every summer on the way to the beach... what happened to it? Do you know who ran it? I'm looking for anything I can on that restaurant... pictures, an old sign, ANYTHING! If you can help at all, please write me at skapunkskate AT rocketmail DOT com! Thank you!!!
My family is the "local dentonian" family who owned McConnell's. It's refreshing to hear other people enjoyed that place as much as we enjoyed having it (but to make one correction: we didn't serve waffle fries, just really good, fat french fries!)!
Hi Kim Miller, Anonymous and everyone....
I am looking for photos, information or any momorabelia from McConnell's. I want to make a scrapbook for my boyfriend for father's day as he has fond memories of going to McConnell's with his dad and family. So, anything would be helpful.
Thank you,
Corry
