Best Day Ever: APW's Version

On Saturday, October 11th we had our first, soon to be annual, trip back to the Dust Bowl. The Dust Bowl is my favorite skate spot of all time. Back in the day when we used to actually skate we went there all of the time. But, at this point it's been four or five years (maybe longer) since we've been there. Here's what the Dust Bowl looked like at the end of 2001.
Yesterday all of the old guys came out of retirement.

El Neutron, The Awesome Dudes, Brutaltron . . . whatever you want to call them, they showed up with a grill.

The Dust Rats were there.

Danzig Brick was there.

Stens was there.

R. Sean was there.

Even Alex showed up.

Everybody was there.

Young bucks were trying hard to show up the old heads.

to be continued . . . .

Did You Guys Notice the Economy just blew up?

Because, it did. Not just ours mind you, the entire world's economy is blowing up as we 'speak.' It's really crazy. However, one plus from this whole this is Sad Guys On Trading Floors. It caught on in popularity earlier this week and it's fantastic. If you haven't been over there, I highly endorse it.

They take pictures like the one above and slap a funny caption on it, like "That’s him! That’s the guy who stole my Heinz Ketchup Walkie Talkie!"

Dust Bowl is BYOB, so plan accordingly.

The footage is about 2:00 in so be patient.

This is a reminder to all those who would like to be involved in a fully aggro hessian session this Saturday at the world famous Dust Bowl. The weather is supposed to be perfect, and the vibes are going to be Irie. Dust Bowl is BYOB, so plan accordingly. I will be leaving around 1:15pm from my house, so if you need a ride, email or call to let me know and we can figure it out. If you are driving and don't know where Dust Bowl is, be at my place at 1:00pm on Saturday, and you can follow me there.

let's get awesome,
Andrew

Phuket Vegetarian Festival

So I got an email from a friend on vacation in Thailand yesterday and I have to post one of the pics because it is on another level!
Yes that guy has a gun stuck THROUGH his cheek!
All of those feathers on his arms, face, and chest are attached by hooks...

Wikipedia says:

The Vegetarian Festival is a religious festival annually held on the island of Phuket in southern Thailand. It attracts crowds of spectators because of many of the unusual religious rituals that are performed. Many religious devotees will slash themselves with swords, pierce their cheeks with sharp objects and commit other painful acts.

This was the least shocking of the pics...

A ridiculous, yet fairly accurate portrayal of the VP Debate

SNL has been hit or miss for a while now, but this is a classic. I wish I could have stayed up to see this one, but I had to get to bed early so Rebecca and I could prepare for a full day of worship.

Its kind of short notice, but anyone in for camping the weekend of October 17? October is one of the best months for camping. A group of us went to Dingman's Ferry last year around this time and it was great, except when Kira and I were pitching our tent in middle of the night in the driving rain. The days were mild with no humidity and few bugs. The nights were cool and perfect for gathering 'round a campfire or tucking into your sleeping bag. The scenery is the best around this time with all the fall foliage.

I'm looking at Trough Creek State Park. "The 554-acre Trough [troff] Creek State Park is a scenic gorge formed as Great Trough Creek cuts through Terrace Mountain and empties into Raystown Lake. Rugged hiking trails lead to wonders like Balanced Rock and Rainbow Falls. Rothrock State Forest and Raystown Lake Recreation Area border the park, making a large, contiguous area of public land for recreation." Additionally there are at least 17 bald eagles residing in the park.

I'm going to reserve campsites this week. I don't have prices for campsites, but if i remember correclty, it was about $60 a site last year. So you are talking about $10 a person. Let me know if you want in. If you don't have any camp gear, no problem, a bunch of us do and we'll get anyone set up if they need to borrow some gear.

TYPE ONE SPECIAL- Bonus life

I almost died last year. One of the very first visions I had was this. . .

and what a vision it was and still is!!! Everything that the light hit that day was so incredibly magnified that it didn't feel real . Even the body I was walking in didn't feel like mine. I had no control and I had never felt so helpless. I almost felt safer strapped down next to the broken schizophrenic lady, who was shitting all over and purposely not telling the nurse to remove it because I got mash potatoes and she didn't.

I wonder from time to time, what did I do wrong? I was constantly criticized by bad friends and fake boyfriends for being healthy and using my brain too much. Those people SUCK! But I do know what I did do right . . . take this photo of Jason and his mustache!

The other person sitting next to Jason is Andrew . Some of you may know him. He obviously likes mustaches. Right there and then, I knew I DEFINITELY did something right. Ever since I was a cute little pup I wanted to grow up to be more like Andrew and I do have to say that my instincts were right. Andrew's livin' and now so am I. Thanks for livin' Andrew. Thanks for livin' Philly crew. . .I love you.

Do Over

People think that L.A. is a party town, and I guess it is to a certain extent it is, but when it comes down to it 99.9% of it sucks... There is only 1 party that is consistently fun, The Do-Over...  Anyway, last week Cosmo was in town and played but I missed it because I had no idea... This week I got a heads up that big Rich Medina was playing, so I saddled up and headed out... He was killing it, classics, soul and hiiiiiip hoooooop... And he's a nice guy too boot, we rapped about shit for a minute after he was done.
Rich played Passin me By and Fat Lip was there so he dropped his verse...
